Today, the BYU Wind Symphony has released a music video for their performance of "Amazing Grace." This arrangement by Frank Ticheli breathes new life into the beloved Christian hymn. The video performance was recorded as part of the ensemble’s 2026 international tour to Brazil.
Originally published in 1779 by English clergyman and poet John Newton, “Amazing Grace” has endured for centuries as one of the world’s most recognized and cherished hymns. This arrangement showcases the hymn’s timeless melody through the rich sonic colors and expressive power of the BYU Wind Symphony.
The BYU Wind Symphony is Brigham Young University’s premier concert band, featuring 50 of its finest woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians. Known for its energetic and versatile performances, the ensemble regularly showcases outstanding student soloists and a diverse repertoire. Since 1987, the Wind Symphony has toured internationally across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America and has earned national recognition from leading band organizations. Its 2026 tour to Brazil continues the ensemble’s longstanding tradition of sharing exceptional music with audiences around the world.
